“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17
There is dispute of authorship of this letter. It is probably from Paul in 65 AD, before he is executed. The tone of the letter to Timothy is different from the first letter.
We have a spirit and it comes from God. From serving God, not ourselves. We walk with God and learn about Him by reading the Bible. He begins to talk to you with a distinctive voice. You can hear Him answer your questions. And yet you doubt too. How much is it His voice, and how much is it you wanting it to be His voice? Walk with God by reading the Bible. He will tell you.
You cannot fail. God loves you. Hold to His purpose, and He will reward you. What would you do if you knew you could not fail? What holds you back? He will open the doors if it is His will. But you must knock on the door, too. Let Him say yes. And accept it if He says no.
Here, Paul gives his final charge to Timothy
"You, however, know all about my teaching, my way of life, my purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance, persecutions, sufferings—what kinds of things happened to me in Antioch, Iconium and Lystra, the persecutions I endured. Yet the Lord rescued me from all of them. In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
